Rev. Scott Coghill (Senior Pastor)


Pastor Scott began serving at Pleasant Acres in August of 2002. He has earned a B.A. degree in Bible and Pastoral Theology from Southeastern FWB College. With a passion for God’s word and a genuine love for people, he is attempting to build a thriving, vibrant body of believers who desire to see God’s Word spread to all the world. Brother Scott assumed the pastorate in November of 2003 after serving as an associate of youth and music under Pastor Dean Dobbs. He and his wife Kristie have four children (three girls and a boy).




Mr. Gary Goodfellow (Minister of Music and Children’s Ministries)


Brother Gary came to Pleasant Acres in February of 2003 when the church called to see if his wife Melissa could fill in at the piano until someone permanent could be found. God led their family to move to New Bern from Carteret County in June of 2004 after commuting for over a year. In August of 2006, after serving as a part-time music minister, a full-time position was offered to Brother Gary as the associate of music and children’s ministries.

He has a B.A. degree in secondary education from Southeastern FWB College. He and his wife Melissa have three daughters.





Rev. Stephen Kimbrell (Minister of Outreach and Teen Life)


Brother Stephen joined the church staff in January of 2008 after spending his first year out of college assisting in starting a home mission work in Pennsylvania. Stephen has earned a B.A. degree in Bible and Pastoral Theology from Southeastern FWB College. He has a tremendous rapport with the youth as well as the adults and has exhibited a tremendous amount of success in reaching out into the community and bringing folks to church. He is passionate about reaching those around our town with the Gospel message. He and his wife Lauren have one daughter.






Mrs. Jo Daw (Church Secretary)


Mrs. Jo has faithfully served at Pleasant Acres for 30 years. She is a joy to work with, and continues to be a wonderful blessing to our pastoral staff and church family. Mrs. Jo, along with her husband Jerry, have seen their daughters grow up in Pleasant Acres and know the value of a solid local church.
